Grant Funding for Founders: How to Find It, Apply for It and Actually Win It

A Q&A and Knowledge Sharing Session with Claudia Radu, Co-Founder of Circe, and Zoe Robson, Founder of Joyvié Health

(Session in English FOCUSED ON UK OPPORTUNITIES)

Grant funding sounds like the dream. Money you don't have to pay back, no equity to give away, and a stamp of credibility that opens doors. But for most founders, the process feels like a black box.

Which grants are actually worth your time?

How do you know if you're even eligible?

And what does a winning application actually look like?

Claudia and Zoe have been through it and come out the other side with grants in hand, and in this session they're telling you exactly how they did it.

Claudia Radu is the co-founder of Circe, the first digital platform connecting people to therapist-led support groups. Zoe Robson is the founder of Joyvié Health, developing faecal incontinence underwear that restores dignity and reduces caregiver burden.

Between them, they have won Innovate UK funding and a range of smaller grants across different stages of their businesses. They know what assessors are looking for, what trips founders up and what makes the difference between an application that wins and one that doesn't.

What you'll take away from this session

  • How to find the grants that are actually relevant to your business and your stage, including Innovate UK and smaller grants worth knowing about

  • How to work out whether a grant is worth applying for, the time commitment involved, what happens if you win and how to handle the disappointment if you don't

  • What assessors are really looking for in a grant application and how to give them what they need

  • The practical tips and tricks Claudia and Zoe learned from going through the process themselves, including what they would do differently

  • How to manage a grant once you've won it and what that commitment actually looks like in practice

  • When the right time to apply is, and how to make sure you're in scope before you invest the time

This session is focussed on grants, accessible to the UK founders, but female founders from other countries are welcome to join and listen in if interested.

Exclusive Online Session for Female Founders

Who is this Online Session for?

This session is for UK-based founders who have heard about grant funding but aren't sure where to start, have started looking and feel overwhelmed by the options, or have applied before without success and want to understand what went wrong.

Grant funding isn't right for every business or every stage. But for the founders it does suit, it can be one of the most powerful tools available. The problem is that the process is rarely explained plainly, and most founders only learn by doing it the hard way.

Claudia and Zoe are here to change that. This is a live Q&A and knowledge-sharing session, which means you'll get their honest experience and you'll have the chance to ask questions specific to your own business and situation directly.

This is a live session. We don't share the recording afterwards, so if you want to be in the room, you need to show up live.
